The results for the Sepia challenge have been recalculated due to the disqualification of the 1st place image. The photographer mistakenly applied a vignette with the sepia effect, and self-reported it. Congrats to kine on the new ribbon.

Congrats to Magno. A man of honor is rare these days. I'm impressed.

Its not that we don't allow vignettes. Its that we don't allow added elements. If it wasn't there when you snapped the shot then its not legal.

Someone correct me if I am wrong

edit: Here is the exact part of the basic ruleset

You may not use ANY editing tool to create new image area, objects or features (such as vignettes, lens flare or
motion) that didn’t already exist in your original capture.

That being said I am not sure if it would legal under advanced or not.

Citadel you are right, but vignettes are allowed under advanced rules.

I believe that adding a vignette in Advanced is legal! Although you can't add a lens flare!

One thing to be learned from this story: Watch out when you apply Lightroom "presets". They work by simply changing the settings for the image, so you can see what they do. Some apply vignette for effect, which isn't legal.

As I posted on the entry, Paulo, this photo is worthy of a blue, but you're worthy of a gold for your honesty and humility :)

Thanks sheila, but I'd like to think the majority of the good folk on dpc would have done the same!!!

Wow... just noticed that there were 13 DQ's in this challenge.

Wonder if that's some kind of record (?).
