I'm really so excited. I have been using a Fuji MX-1700 digital. It's a 1.3 mega pixel.

BUT...tonight I bought the Sony F707 5 megapixel and a new printer. I am really so excited. I can't wait to get it charged up and try some photos. I'll post them to my website if you want to check them out:)

Great cam, the night mode shoot infra red, with a IR filter and a neutral denisity filter you can shoot through people bathing suits. Make sure you submit some of those.

Congrats, congrats :)

Any credit go to the site on that purchase? I'm really going to start a list soon...

Wow Angel, I didn't realize your other camera was a 1.3 megapixel. I have always been amazed at the sharpness of your photos especially the motorcycle one. Mine is a 3.3 megapixel and I never seem to get my pictures as sharp as I would like.

Congrats! Shoot lots and lots! Try out all the settings on the same subject! Best way to learn your camera!

Thanks everyone.

Sandra: I even took that baby chick photo with the 1.3 pixel. It for some reason just takes some really clear photos.

Drew: The guy got my email address and wanted to see some of my photos. He's also going to tell others that buy digitals about the site. Is there more credit it can get ? You know me...I am always promoting the site:)

Zeissman: I'm a girl and not into seeing through my roomies bikini's...LOL

I can't wait to learn this camera.

On a similar note, I just finally got my new Canon G2 in the mail last weekend. I used it for 'on the road' but just haven't changed the default yet, so it wouldn't confuse people as to which camera 'hair cut' was taken with. I'm also upgrading from a Fuji 1.3 megapixel, which does a great job of taking 1.3 megapixel snapshots - very impressive quality considering it was an inexpensive camera 1.5 years old.

But I'm looking forward to the added flexibility of the G2. I have missed being able to decide what aperture I want rather than being stuck at whatever the camera decides. Haven't posted anything yet, cause I'm still getting used to it going around like "oooohhh, what happens if I do this?" type of thing.

Unfortunately, I can't join the "promote DPChallenge by buying a new camera" club, cause I did order it before I found this site :( Just took a while to get it cause the cheapest price place was backordered.

Kimbly, you are going to LOVE that G2.. I got mine 2 months ago and for a Non-SLR, it is very impressive. It's a better camera than I am a photographer by a long shot :-)

I am the opposite story, my search for a new camera brought me here. Gordon had a link on DP Review (where I made my camera buying decision) and here I is. Blame him ;-)

Yeah, I am going to miss the "It's not my fault the photo is bad, it's just cause I have a cheap camera" excuse...:)

Shiiizzzam,

Yer gonna love the F707... I use one and I really like mine. I think it's probably the best bang for the buck in that class of cameras... The Nikon CoolPix 5000 costs $100 more and I couldn't find any reason not to buy the Sony... I think you have made a great choice... Let's see some pitchers :)

You took great pic's before, now we're really in trouble! :) Congrats! -Having only a 2.1 myself, could you post the same photo from one of each so we can see the difference?

I would post another by my old camera to compare but I had to take the other cables and stuff off so I could hook up the new one. There is a huge difference.
