First I would like to say that negative comments concerning my photography don't bother me. What does bother me however, is those people who feel it necessary to tell me that my photo is not good and then fail to quantify their answer or offer suggestions as to how I can improve. Telling me my photos aren't good doesn't help me in any way. It would be nice if those of you who comment negatively on a photo, any photo, could at least tell me and anyone else you "grace" with your opinion why you don't like the photo and maybe what can be done to improve it in the future. Don't just say that a photo "Sucks" and leave it at that.

While I truly appreciate your concerns, and agree with your point of view, I don't think I would have used the term "grace"... for some reason it bothers me, and as such I would not be apt to comment at all.

Constructive criticism is a rarity on DPC. There are a few members who do take the time to comment constructively as well as the few members who think it's clever to leave remarks that are sophomoric and rude. What I find truly amazing is they all have their name right there, next to their childish comments. It would serve the community well to have a tutorial on constructive criticism and have some guidelines discouraging off-handed commentary as we have all seen.

Those are guidelines, it's true, but I was thinking more along the vein of this
