More minimal editing challenges please.

Yes - more of those :)

I don't know where to ask this; I have just bought Photoshop Elements; I realize that it will take some time to learn how to use it; but does anyone know how to set the text size & icon size on the menu bar? I'm going blind trying to read it!!

I have no answer to that offhand...

I don't know how to change the text & icon size in Photoshop, but if you lower the resolution of your monitor, everything will be easier to read.

In windows: Start->Control Panel->Display-> (Settings Tab)

I tried to find some information on this and came up empty. Even hubby (the computer guru) says the only way to change this is to change the resolution on your monitor.

You didn't say want OS, but if Windows XP, change the font size through the Windows Control Panel. It's somewhere in the Display System area, under one of the Advanced tabs. I'll have to look it up later. I'm running Vista right now.

If running Vista:

- Right-click on the desktop and choose "Personalize"
- Click on the "Windows Color and Appearance" link
- Click on "Open classic appearance properties for more color options" (This is the same as in XP. Getting to this point, however, is different between XP and Vista)
- Click on the "Advanced" button
- Select "Menu" from the "Item:" list, and set your font properties there

Keep in mind that this will change the font size for all the Windows applications.

If you are using a Mac you can turn on zooming by pressing the [option][apple][8] key combination and then use [option][apple][=] to increase font size and [option][apple][-] to decrease font size. To play with these settings and to see other alternatives go to System Preferences->Universal Access.
I still find the easiest way to foil those 20 year old programmers (seemingly, all with perfect vision) is to keep a pair of inexpensive reading glasses beside my monitor.

Thank you so much; changing the screen resolution made the menu easier to read. (But not as big as I would like) That set all my other applications to huge fonts, but I was able to adjust that by using the "page" tool to adjust the size, & it did't effect the settings in Elements. I'm using windows vista. by the way, my poor photos have been ruined lately by my over-editing without knowing what I'm doing. There's an on line tutorial that has been recommended; the address is lynda.com Online Training Library. Has anyone had experience with this site; is it worth looking into?
