Just wondering what anyone has heard about this new digital SLR that is due out in the fall of 2004. I am saving now but have not heard even speculation about what this body might cost. Is there a pre-review out there yet. I did find phiture of the camera but little else. I am excited as I have 3 Minolta Maxxum lens already and several flashes. I read that the lens should work. I would like to hear more about this new SLR.

Expect it to be more expensive than the D Rebel. Minolta's most recent top-of-the line non-SLR A2 came out with a list price of $1100. It will most likely cost more than the A2, but will be a good purchase if you already have the lenses to go with it. Seems like used film SLR's are going cheap on eBay as many dump them for digital.

I'm eagerly awaiting info too. I gave up on Minolta doing such a thing in December and bought a Panasonic FZ10. Now I'll probably sell the FZ10 when the Minolta body comes out. I still haven't even decided if I like the FZ10 all most of the shots have been indoor sports shots only. I waiting for mother nature to wake up and give us some color so that I can really test it out. Anyway, I've searched too and there just doesn't seem to be much imformation available on the Maxxum 7 Digital yet.

Thanks for the reply's all. I am still saving my cash. The pot is up to $600, so I should be good by fall.

I've been saving too! But, I'm about to breakdown and buy the Maxxum 100 2.8 macro. I guess I still don't see the digital word as an equivalent to what I can do with my standard SLR's.

I have 2 Maxxum SLRs and will probably make the Maxxum 7D my third. I've seen it, played with it a little, and like it. The anti-shake is very nice and it does accept Maxxum lenses. It's considerably lighter than my Kodak Digital and my Fuji S2 DSLR. The larger LCD screen is very clear and easily readable. It may take a little getting used to the buttons on back next to the LCD, but the controls are generally placed well. It's still going for the original price (about $1589)in the NY/NJ area.
