Hi Friends,
I have posted some birds pictures at
Singapore Bird Park Pics

I would love to know critical comments on the pics and what do you think about the cam and lens

I have done post processing in gimp with basic workflow of levels > curves > USM

Let me know how well was the post processing work too

I really like some of your shots.

In particular, Greater White Pelican is very nice- great exposure for the white feathers. This flamingo shot is well composed too.

A few shots have bright, blown out skies or backgrounds, particularly the landscapes. It is often very hard to avoid this though, and the best way to fix it is to change the time of day you are shooting (always easier said than done!). A number of shots look like they could be improved by using a smaller f-stop to blur the background more and give a smaller depth of field. This lesser flamingo shot would probably be improved with a smaller DOF. The background is a little distracting.

I didn't detect any glaring evidence of post processing, so in my book you are doing it well.

I usually make sure f-stops is arnd f8-f11 and dont dig anymore

You have a nice set of shots there. I really like the first flamingo shot, great colors and contrast. I'll agree with the blown out sky comments and when I shot captive birds I try to leave out the tethers, they draw to much attention. The golden eagle shot catching its prey was pretty cool but a faster shutter speed could have cut down on the motion blur. I know that is easier said than done sometimes but if you are expecting any wing flapping it's time to open up that aperture or boost the ISO so you can increase the shutter, better prepared then fooling with it or getting blurry shots. All in all I like them, I would leave comments on them if you had them posted here. Trevor
