I left a WA converter on my 28-80 lens and now it wont come off, afraid I may break the lens. I was in the mountains at high altitude, not sure if that made it worse, anyone have any suggestions?

The trip to high altitude is very unlikely to be the cause of the trouble. A little dust or grit in the threads is the likely culprit.
First thing, try gripping it with one of those rubber grippers used for loosening jar caps. It's amazing how often that works.

Just athought, but an oil filter wrench, with a cloth or rag as a buffer, would probably work perfectly.

I had a lens filter stuck on mine for almost two years. Had tons of people try to help me get it off. Oh, the reason it was stuck is I fell and the lens filter edge hit the ground first. During the London GTG (it was a rather wet day) I noticed condesation building on the inside surface of the filter. Not good. Decided that I'd probably have to go with wire cutters or pliers to cut the ring of the filter to get it off. Asked at a shop in York, and the guy took one try to quite easily unscrew it.

So I recommend either a) waiting over a year, b) shoot in the rain for a day, or c) see the guy at the camera store in York. I have no idea why mine suddenly decided it wanted to come off.

Turn your mouse mat upside down, on a firm surface. Push your lens down firmly against it and rotate the whole lens. This has worked for me. Just make sure you rotate it the correct way.
