Just had a couple of Monarch butterflies land on my windowsill. Bluebonnets are appearing by the roadsides. I guess Spring is here.

Any plans for a central Texas GTG/ wildflower shoot ?

For purely selfish reasons, I vote for somewhere near Houston between April 3rd and 6th....and not between 9am and 5pm. Or make it a combined golf course architecture and wildflower shoot with golf from 9-5. :-)

That's about 3-4 hours east of 'Central' Texas :)

What's a measly 3-4 hours in a land as vast as Texas??

I'm in Houston and might be interested, depending on exactly where it is. I live in far west Houston so already kinda that way ;-)

Brenham area maybe? Or the Washington-on-the-Brazos State Park?

Brenham or Fredericksburg area (hill country) would work nicely for bluebonnets.

Limbo and I were in the plans of getting a Houston GTG soon. We could just combine these two and make it a Texas GTG.

April 5th in the afternoon would work nicely for me. I am going to be in Brenham in the area that day photoshooting some models and bluebonnets anyway :)

I've been to Brenham before, it isn't too far from Austin - couple of hours I think. Could be a good option.
There was an old car junk yard out there that I would have loved to have gotten access to the last time I went
to shoot. Rusting 50's cars with bluebonnets growing out of the smashed headlamps and the like. School busses
with wildflowers cascading down the stairs.

I am traveling out of the country until April 18. I would definitely join in if you can delay until my return.

And I'll obligate Scarbrd to join as well.

Gee thanks! I'll go if I can.

Last year we took a drive from Houston to Brenham, went North from there to Washington on the Brazos then looping back to Brenham from the West. Absolutly spectacular.

This shot is a compsite for an Expert editing challenge, but all the shots came from that day in the Texas Hill Country

This was for the Chain challenge taken on the same day.

And this one

How long a drive is it from Dallas to Houston??
Guess I could take a vacation day on Friday to drive.

Although you guys shoot WAY outta my league. (I might not be fun to have around.)

lol, I hoping some of their talent will rub off on me ;-)

I'm heading to Brenham with the family this Sunday to see how it is. Never been up there. I want to get some family portraits done in the wildflowers. If I get any good shots I'll post them up.

The wildflowers aren't quite there yet. Hopefully they will be full on in a couple of weeks.

Here are some shots from todays adventure.

I'm hearing it is going to be something of a quiet year for wildflowers. Not enough rain in the autumn.

So Gordon, any plan to schedule something?
