I am interested in getting a kind of 3D look to some photos I take. Does the Poser software do this? something like this here:

Thanks for your input!

P.S.--How do I get links to show up on here too. Thanks again.

staskephotography.com

There is a little list of icons above the message box where we type. Mouse over them - one reads "Insert Hyperlink"

Highlight web address then click on the "insert hyperlink" button just above your message space (it looks like a globe).

I thought Poser was more of a 3D Modeling (rendering) package, usually used for on-line (highend) Avatars and what not. Final result is way less photo more computer generated looking.

Are there any 3D-ish shots in particular on that site that you direct us to as an example? I looked around and it all seemed pretty standard.

When you say 3D, do you mean something like this? //www.davehillphoto.com/

Poser is for making 3D characters for 3D applications. You can place photos of people on the models, but I don't think this is what you are after.

Dave Hill's photos are more than just 3d. I'm guessing he 1 shoots in RAW and then edit's an HDR image to get those highlights and shadows to pop out. Then after running some simple actions for painting with lights he gets that 3d look. I'm not sure how to get that cartoon look yet but kiwiness has a tutorial coming out soon that will help with that.

OK, but what do these people do to get this affect that they use in the images?
