I just wanted to tell all you people about the dead mouse pictur( //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=62108 ) . For those who where calling me murderer and a pshyco killer or whatever. There was a conflict beetween me and the mouse, the mouse where eating our potatoes that we kept at our summerhouse. The conflict beetween us had to be solved, and we where most definetely not giving up our food. Just wanted to tell you guys that im not a violent person...thanks litbolti

I gave the pic a 5, I liked it. I knew you'd get those nasty comments, though. The fact is if people weren't killing mice in their homes then the neighborhood store wouldn't sell traps and poison. :-) You're not the only one! We have mice in our garage and I don't mind them, however, they chew up EVERYTHING and leave poop all over the place so now they've gotta go. If I came and took random dumps in your house, I would understand if you left out poison for me. :-)

People are people, always willing to cast judgement upon others until they have to walk a mile in their shoes.

From the comments there seems to be two separate issues.

One which you address... are you a cruel, mean spirited person. I think you gave a resounding response already.

The second one.. should you have submitted the photo to DPC. For myself I don't really care about the potatoes, the image didn't appeal to me. Whether or not you submit a picture I think is a choice you have to make yourself.

I think, here are lot of people, who do not like do be shocked but life is not only an still life.

May be somewhere are more cruelty in real life. My life here is pretty calm, that is why i can make cruel photos.

I want to suggest for everybody, who will vote my silence photo with "1" - go and visit your doctor.

I'm not going to voice an opinion on whether it belongs here or not, but I did want to share a story with you. I used to work for Terminix, and this occasionally involved removing mice from the premisis. I had a customer that was having a problem with mice. She didn't want to kill or harm them because she thought that it was inhumane, on the other hand she didn't want anyone in her family to come down sick because of the diseases that mice carry. So she agreed to use sticky traps(which I think is more inhumane). I was showing her where the mice were getting into her house when sure enough in came a little mouse! That little bugger ran right over her foot! I don't think that I have ever seen anyone move so fast in my life! As soon as she calmed down, about 10 min later, she told me to kill them all. Go figure!

Mundi

Lots of users here have kids, and many users view this site from work, family, and/or public computers. When the URL link in your profile links without warning to an extremely graphic porn site I have a hard time accepting moral critisism from you.

Links to those kinds of websites is definitly inappropriate on DPC.

I think folks freak'd because they believe you put this picture up more for "SHOCK" value rather then to meet the challenge. Understandably people will generally rush to conclusion, and slam you. That said, you are justified for putting this thread together to inform people that this was not the case.

Now -- If people continue to slam you for killing the mice, then they obviously have never had a real invasion of mice, and they do not understand the severity of the situation.

Folks -- If you have mice in your home, or a place that you inhabit, you would be extremely foolish not to "kill" the mice. This isn't a matter of being humane, or handling the situation in a humane manner. It is about insuring the safety and well being of you and your family as quickly as possible. Once mice have a strong hold in your surroundings, they have the ability to habituate and populate at a rate very few understand. This is not a joke for any household with a rodent problem.

If you people are so humane, that you don't want to see a mice suffer, then go out and start a campaign to get rid of the millions of cats in this world. The sole purpose for feline domestication, was for the purpose of rodent control.

Congratulations for capturing it (both the mouse and the photo)!

I lived in a mouse-infested house early in my marriage in N. Ireland and never want to experience this again. I had mousetraps in my oven for goodness sakes and under my bed and in the food cupboard and under the sink. They were everywhere. My cat had it's fill and stopped hunting them!

What a menace they were!

(I don't enjoy seeing photos of dead animals but yours certainly fills the challenge! ;o) )

Libolti, have you considered making a print available for that photo? One could hang it in their basement as a warning to any other mice that may dare to venture in.

I think you nailed the challenge theme head on. Not by the photo but by the voter's reactions. ;)

I would have given that shot a nine, why ? Because it's very bold and a great statement. Also the style is very raw, not bad but I think it's just how the artist wanted it to be. Afterall a studio shot of a dead mouse would be stupid.

So Litbolti, when people are calling you bad names, you should know that you also have people on your side :)
