I'm trying to figure out how to crop a 5x7 portrait crop in a landscape photo. Lightroom seems to force a landscape crop if the image is originally a landscape...

Any ideas?

Thanks

First choose the aspect ratio you want, in this case 5x. Now choose the crop frame tool. Click/drag inside the image. Now move the cursor around and you can get the crop to turn vertical.
Why it needs to be done this way is a mystery to me. They could have made it more intuitive. There may be a better way that I'm unaware of.

I do it the same way as Kirbic but to be honest I could not tell you exactly where I drag cause it's beyond me  It's just part of a bad interface....

Yeah, you just drag it around until you force it to the orientation you want. It's kinda weird. You'll get the hang of it after awhile.

New Quick Lightoom Question.

When I import RAW photos into lightroom the colours are really ugly and the colour transition is not smooth.

Everything looks a little over saturated and the yellows kind of look a really hideous orange and alot of people look like they were swimming in self tanner and they're all blotchy.

Its really digusting and its really depressing to see the photos look like that.

They dont seem to have a problem after I export them but its hard to edit them properly with everything so skewed.

Could someone please help me?

What are the import settings that should be in place when im importing my photos?

Any other reason why this might be an issue?

HELP!

If you grab an actual corner of the "crop box" and move it around, it will "snap" between portrait and landscape orientation. It's hard to explain it, so it's best if you just do it. Just make sure your cursor is right over the actual corner when you click and drag. The cursor should not look like a curved line with an arrow on each end (that is what appears when the cursor is outside of the crop box), nor should it look like a hand (that appears inside the crop box). It will look like a diagonal line with arrows coming out perpendicular to the line.
