Hey all!
I just got my website and blog up and would love some honest thoughts about it. It's not completely finished yet, but I'm excited about the way it's turning out. A newer bludomain template. Thanks so much!

i might move the thumbs menu so it doesn't overlay over the horizontal images.

The site itself is cool. But lots of people won't like the music. People who surf at work will really be turned off by the music.

I've thought a lot about the music dilemma. I understand both sides of it and really haven't come to a full decision yet. On one hand, I think sound and music add a ton to the experience of looking at photos...and rather than have someone open a music player and pick some music to look at images, it's a nice way of providing that. Also, if they are worried about sound coming on at work, why are the speakers turned on? BUT, I do realize that a lot of people don't like the music, so, therefore, does the fact that I like it and some other people like it outweigh the fact that I could remove it and not really make much of a difference? I'm still wrestling with that:) Thanks for the opinions though! I appreciate them!

Brain,
Great job with the website, it is an excellent beginning and I am sure will evolve as you do.
I particularly like your last family picture of the Clayvilles. Altogether that whole shoot turned out really great and I am sure is something they must love.
Keep up the great work.

I like the look of your site a lot; it's clean and fresh and attractive. I am one of those people who dislike music on websites, but you do have an option to turn it off, and it's easy to find (I found it immediately and turned it off), so I think you're OK having music for those who enjoy it.

It took forever for it to load..clicked on your gallery and that took forever to load. To me a site site should come up quick with hardly any pauses or I leave and find another. I don't have time to mess around on the computer when I have 2 little ones surrounding me at all times. They say I have DSL but I have yet to believe it because my internet runs so slow and always has.

Here's my side of the dilemma. I already have music playing and when a site plays music over the top of what I want to hear it's annoying. I don't mind muting a site by clicking AS LONG AS IT'S OBVIOUS where to click. Your site's little soft gray speaker image is hard to see and the initial volume level is quite loud.

To me it's simple.... If you want people to stay turn it off by default and provide an option to turn it on for those that like it. If only half the people hate it then you lose a lot of people before they look at anything... The ones that like music do not close it out immediately when they hear nothing.
