Architecture I
Architecture II
Architecture III

Surprised to see this so soon after the abandoned buildings, but am quite pleased. I'm
a bit bored of landscapes, this makes a nice change :-)

Looks like shots under bridges did well last time. Maybe that's because that's where trolls live ;-)

I take any bet there will be at least 10 % landscapes in the challenge (just think of abandoned barns, old watermills, wooden bridges, small red huts in Iceland etc.)

dont feel too bad, the sagrada familia is 90%covered in scaffolding, and the main chuch in the the old part of town is too. Great to look at nonetheless, but not great for a dp entry

I'm with your wife on this one - the Gaudi park (I forget the name) would be my choice of photo way ahead of the Sagrada Familia! Far more unusual... Who knows what the guy was taking when he came up with all the stuff up there. :o)

I don't care what the picture is, as long as it has an ultra wide angle sky, and maybe a little tone mapping.

Its Parc Guell if its the one im thinking of (with all the interesting columns).

Shes right, barcelona is amazing! I just really dont like how its become a budget travel location. seems like its cheaper for some punk to fly out to BCN, get trashed for very little money, pass out in the street, and fly back home the next day. If they dont do something Barcelone is (if not already) will become like those places in mexico where american college kids go and get drunk. (Nothing wrong with doing that, just its a shame to turn such a cultured progressive city into a drunken playground)
Sorry for the rant

Finally living around a bunch of FLW designed structures is going to be useful.

Not sure if you meant that ironically or not, but after the Abandoned Buildings challenge, I've had enough of both for quite a long while, thanks. Not to start that debate again, but it did make me long for basics!

As soon as I saw the announcement, I started considering a road trip to Spring Green.... I think it would be about 2-3 hours for me...

PLEASE no abandoned barns, old watermills, wooden bridges, small red huts in Iceland, i don't want to have to vote through a couple hundred of those things again for this challenge!

That's the one - what a place! Now some architecture photos there would certainly stand out! Hmmm. What are flight prices looking like right now?! ;o)

Do not forget the most impressive modern building, the Agbar tower. Surely a night shot of this building will be a top ten if well done, of course.

Tried to get an entry today. I'm not happy with them because I just don't have the right lens. :(

One hit wonder?

Sigh....the one and only day this week that it's not raining. I tried to go out, but the 3 coolest buildings in central San Diego are all covered with scaffolding right now. Double sigh...

Do those super big public works of art on grassy lawns (or in front of skyscrapers) in downtown areas count as architecture?

How about the ceilings in buildings with their ornate designs?

my own opinion is...super big public works of art - no but ornately designed ceilings - definitely yes

Big works of art? No. (They are technically sculpture). Ceilings? Yes. As I heard somewhere from someone who heard it from a friend that some buildings have ceilings. ;)

Seriously, I think that zeroing in on a element of a piece of architecture is cool. You don't HAVE to have the whole thing. Sometimes it works better if you don't actually

(The ceiling of the Sistine Chapel comes to mind. I couldn't tell you what the rest of the chapel looks like...)

I've been in San Francisco this week and will return next week. There is a whole bunch of cool architecture here (skyscrapers mixed in with older buildings, Chinatown, Golden Gate and Bay bridges). However, it has been raining all week and the forecast calls for rain most of next week, too. :-(

When I fly home tonight for the weekend, I'm hoping to get out and shoot some southern California architecture as a backup. That way, if it is indeed raining when I retunn to S.F. next week, maybe I'll at least have something to submit.
