Forgive me if this is already possible (I'm new) but, I would like to be able to search past challenges by title name. I looked for a while and didn't see any way to do that.

There isn't a search, but there is a Challenge History under the challenges menu.

Right, I was looking at that and thought a search feature would be helpful. I just took another look and noticed all the sorting arrow buttons at the top. That's good enough for me.

If you load the Challenge History page and tick the "Show All Challenges At Once" checkbox, you can then use Ctrl-F in Firefox or IE to find a specific challenge. Firefox is a bit easier in that it will move around the page as you type, requiring less key strokes.

To be honest - since everybody does it anyway couldn't the links to previous versions just be included in the challenge description to save time and effort ?

To search for previous challenge results, run the following search template on google, replacing "challenge title" with, well, the challenge you're searching for:

"challenge title" +"challenge results" +site://www.dpchallenge.com

So, a "real" search would be this (cut and paste the next line into google to see it work, or click here):

"framing II" +"challenge results" +site://www.dpchallenge.com

The result will usually be in the first few results (if not the first one). If there was more than one previous challenge, I tend to search for each previous challenge with the number attached, rather than just the challenge title words, as that sometimes buries earlier results. If the challenge title has more than one word, make sure it's in quotation marks (same with "challenge results").

Hope that helps.

Well, I guess it helps, but it seems unnecessary to me. As someone else said, go to challenge history, click show all, and hit cntrl-F and type the challenge title and you've got it. Fast and easy.
