Is your shot getting very good scores and lots of comments during a challenge? If so, please ask yourself, "Do I really need a critique on this shot or am I getting good information from the voters".

The reason I bring this up is that there are several hundred shots a week requesting critiques and with three challenges this week I only see that number getting bigger! (412 entries in Textures II how many will want critiques!) If you don't really need a critique by the end of the challenge it will help us to get to more of the folks that could really use them if you uncheck the little box!

Think about it!

Good point! I've unchecked the box on my best scoring photo which has 17 comments so far!

Good point. I will follow that
However, it might be also addvicable for CC-members to make just a very brief comment if a very highly rated image (lets say top 10%) is given to them. That would save time too.

"Doesn't do it for me" or "I like it" don't qualify as good critiques for me. That's why I request a critique from the Critique Club. If I do get some good critiques during the challenge or know the picture just sucks, I do uncheck the box, since I haven't receive a critique from the Club since like December anyways (not a slam).

Actually, I've been thinking about e-mailing Setz to request membership into the Critique Club, because I know you folks have a ton of photos to critique each week.

I unchecked mine too, I didn't had time to prepare better, and this time I know exactly what's wrong. All 9 comments enforce that, so no need for critique club now in textures. I will also be more careful in the future I will only check if I'm really not sure. Didn't know about critique club being under such pressure :) That also explains why my critique for "Letting go" is being so late. I really am interested in that one.

I have 19 comments in textures2 and it seems I have a wide gap in "opinions" ...from lousy to spectacular....which leads me to believe I should trust my own judgement. however I do check on the quality of work from each...interesting note...the really brutal ones are usually from those folks who haven't entered ANY challenges!

I unchecked my request (didn't know there was such demand!). With twenty three comments, I've received plenty of useful feedback. Thanks for pointing out the issue so some of us could withdraw our request and lighten the load.

I have noticed that on my own shots in the past. I always try and look at a commentors profile to see what they have done themselves. It kind of puts their comment in perspective!

13 comments so far on my Mundane entry so I unchecked it :)

Well, I have requested a critique a few times before and never got it, so I stopped requesting.

Bumping because I pulled a shot from the Queue that is a top ten finisher with a 7+ score and 20 comments during the challenge. There are currently 273 shots in the Queue...

Sounds good...I have a couple of images in the running now that I will uncheck!

You can't skip the entry to continue with the next one?

Kinda, you have to go through HBunch and she has to remove it from you and it's kinda a pain...
