How well can use the 70-200 for macro pictures? Anyone who have some samples/ examples?

Not well. The maximum magnification is 1:5.8 which means that something about 5 inches long fills the frame horizontally. Extension tubes do not work well with the 70-200 (I've played with them. You *could* use a close-up adapter or "diopter" mounted to the front of the lens, however if you do this you want the Canon one, *not* a cheap knockoff. There is a world of difference. |

If you really want to get into macros, check out the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro. It'll do true 1:1 macro and is a very sharp prime lens too.

Hi
I was just curios, since I am going to buy the 70-200. I have tried the 100 mm. macro - and yes, it is really nice.
Best regards,
Thomas
