I thought my entry was quite good, at least a 5 something. This is a most discouraging site...... i am totally disillusioned if thats how you spell it.

One thing I learned here is that you have to like the photo you enter - can't enter to win. |

I never expect to win but i also dont expect low scores like that. Lately some of the images that have been scoring well I feel have been quite ordinary and over processed . I have very little motivation to enter any more challenges. |

Ah, hang in there! It isn't about the winning or the ribbons - it's about expanding your horizons and getting out to shoot! Okay, okay... I haven't tested the scoring well or ribboning thing, but I'm sure they aren't as great as they sound.
I rather like my shot quite a lot and imagine the outtakes would probably do better, but the one I entered is the one that spoke to me. I'm also carefully considering the idea that I have no taste whatsoever.
Since in another thread someone said less than 6 was tanking, I'm going to claim the super-tank at 4.66 so far! |

My scores have been consistently lower than I thought they would be too and I have also found winning photos that I thought were ordinary or uninspired but I keep coming back because I have learned a lot from the comments and criticism I have received on my submissions.
The very first lesson I learned here was don't submit a photo all last minute. Plan your photo take the shot and truly love the shot you submit or don't submit at all. You will just be disappointed.
That is unless you just want comments and crits. and don't care about score.

Not doing well on this one. But I see why when I read the comments. Comments are important, I wish more people would leave them. It can be simple or detailed.

It looked better on my home screen than this one at work. My home screen has been color corrected. It looks more green here at work. My guess is that many people are seeing the same thing I see here at work, too much green cast. |
