My wife has epilepsy, and believe me, it's not funny.

I guess if it wasn't so close to home (epilepsy), I might not be so offended.

Edit: At first I didn't get the connection Mavrik, but my signature wasn't a slight directed at people with dyslexia, just towards people like myself who can't spell for beans. You know - self-parody? Sorry if that's what you thought. :)

But it's not about photography either, and at least some of the SC's (myself included) would prefer to see the forum topics here on DPC relate to the site and/or photography...

I quite enjoy these posts, much more than a lot of the whining in the usual Rant threads. I like it, I like it a lot; especially Bamaster's links.

Orussell - I'm just pointing out that MOST things hit "close to home" for someone...it's hard not to offend anyone ever. I'm sorry that one hit close to home for you, but ... I dunno. It had the warning, it looked like a "joke" thing to me - so I figure that it's just for fun and we gotta have "fun" somehow.

If they are in Rant, people can turn them off in their preferences if they please.

Not trying to stomp on fun, but trying to even it out for the people who come here solely for the photography.

HI karen. I should have specified: I agree these posts belong in Rant. Maybe even create a Off Topic forum with the choice of turning that one off, just like Rant.

Reminds me of when the Simpsons were in Japan and the SeizeBots came on. I think my pupils dilated and I awoke on the floor. LOL. (and I know alot about Sz (seizures) working in as an ER RN).

I thought I posted this IN the off topic forum labeled: "GENERAL" or "stuff that won't fit anywhere else" I could be wrong.

General and Rant seem to be the exceptions, but EVERY other section is about photography.. I am fairly certain I posted in the correct forum.

It is my belief that "General" is to be used for photography related things that don't fit in any other category. For example, questions about a piece of photography-related software would be appropraite for the "General" forum since it doesn't fit "exactly" into any of the other forums. Since this is a photography site, most of the discussion should center around photography.

I thought I had been posting so much that you were giving me my own private category ....

This is a community, and there will be discussions outside of photography, no doubt. I have no problem with that. Like I previously suggested, why not an "off topic" thread which could be turned off, just like the Rant forum?
