How it will work. Send me a PM with the lens you want, rent it through the site and I will issue you an immediate refund of 25%. Discount is on rental price, shipping still applies.

You do know that I consider this lens "mine." Therefore, anyone who rents it, better dang sure better take care of it. :)

Yes, it should be there today.

I do consider it yours... i was thinking I may need your permission to rent it again.

:)

It felt weird to put the "normal" lens back on my camera.

What I found most odd was people's reaction to *me.*

We went to a "fly-in" (re: unscheduled airshow). I have been there no less than 6 times over the past 3 years or so, always with a camera. NEVER has another photographer spoken to me. That day, 3 came up and started conversations.

At the zoo -- several comments from other parents carrying cameras.

The funniest was the football games. I was using it primarily to shoot little league football under bad lights. I became known as "that girl with the big camera." A couple of them wanted to try it (uh, no.) and they all felt like bigshots because I was taking their pictures of it (one little friend was impressed because that is the kind you see at the NFL games, he said).

And yes, L glass looks silly on a silver body. I have a battery grip, so it helps a bit, but it does look a bit odd.

:)

Loved the experience.

Hate my lenses now.

must.

save.

money.

yea, i know it. :)

I also know the kids need some things, like food. :)

Seriously, it would be awesome to own, but right now I'm not in the shape financially to get it. Eventually, I will, but I will pay for it, not charge it. :)

I know how you feel.... I recently rented a 100-400 lens to shoot a police motorcycle competition. The lens was AMAZING and everyone talked to me! I hated using my own lenses after that!!!!

I too..... MUST.... SAVE........ MONEY!!!!!!

I have the Nikon 70-200/2.8 AF-S VR, which is the equivalent to the Canon 70-200/2.8 IS USM. It is indeed, a magic lens, and I've had similar reactions to you, Karmat.

For anyone wondering, I took this shot with it, handheld, at a night baseball game from almost the top of the stadium (with a 1.4 teleconverter:

To see how high I was, look at this shot from the same spot:

Two of my favorites with my lens.

The football picture was from about 25 yards away under less than desireable lighting. There is NO way I would have been able to get this shot with the stuff I have now.

The 100-400 isn't a debate - it's a need, and I think Karmat probably needs to try one as well :- ) it may be a tad slower than the 2.8 but what a great range it has.

Already read that. :) Thought about it. Pictured my children without food for a few weeks. Decided, maybe not. BUT, if I had the money, I'd be all over it.

Didn't see on your website, do I mail the lens back on the agreed time, or do I mail it back in order to get it back by a certain date. Looks like you're paying the freight both ways, I'm assuming you insure it both ways? How long the discount? I'd be tempted to drop the hammer for 2 to 4 weeks on the Nikkor 10.8 2.8 Fish if you had it in stock.

once you receive it, you get the specified time. we have email confirmation of when it is delivered. inside the box we give you a date to have it postmarked, more times than not it is accurate w/ delivery.

Shipping is additional and listed w/ the lens description, but it is insured both ways and we provide you with a return label.

The 25% discount has no determined timeline, kind of a as we go type deal.

Get em while you can!

Ok. The rental agreement confused me because it said the Lessor paid the shipping in both directions.

OMG - that's a fabulous site. I'll have to order something in the next few months when I'm out of debt. Even $48/week is too much right now.

But that's great!

Lessor : Usually the owner of equipment being leased to a lessee or user.

It IS confusing, isn't it? If you take out a lease on something, you'd think you'd be the "leaser" of it, but no... The "lessor" is the one who owns it, the "lessee" buys the use of it. Dumb language...
