This past week's challenges saw the first-ever ribbons awarded to two photos taken with the new Canon EOS-40D camera.

.
Silhouettes IV . . . . . . . . . Wealth

For those of you that are debating whether to buy the 40D or not, hopefully the results of the challenges should make your decision (or indecision) just a bit harder! :-)

But the ribbons ahead of the 40D images were made with inferior Rebel 300/350D's and a vile Nikon D70s!

Only took eight minutes for this to be pointed out. My laugh of the day.

Of course neither of these two photographers had ever ribboned.

But I will always insist that it is the photographer who makes the photo, not the camera.

I'd like to think and hope that the average person wouldn't rush out and buy a camera based on the fact that someone won a ribbon at DPC with it. You could own a 1Ds MKIII and never ribbon with it here. Cameras are just a tool used to create winners and frankly, any camera will do the job if used right.
