I've heard a news report today, that some places in Alberta, Canada are reporting -56C (that's Celsius) windchill temperatures.
That's about -130 Fahrenheit !! That is bloody cold!

I am only in Ontario, but our temperatures with the windchill are reaching below -30C (-86F). And now comes the snow. 40cm over the past 48 hrs. I don't think I can ever get used to it.

Anyone is suffering winter blues like me?

Well, not quite, but still cold. It's -56 C = -68 F.

-30 C = -22 F.

OK, I used some weird formula that I had in my little calendar book to convert the degrees. Never mind.

But that is totally missing the point. You are right I do not work outside, but getting to work is painful enough. Normally it takes about 75 minutes. Well in these conditions, it take twice that long. Do you understand how much time gets wasted just by getting to and from work? All that time could be used for other more cheerful things to do. Like taking pictures and stuff like that :-))

the formula is like this f=(c x 1.8)+32 this is from my refrigeration engineering class. So -56c x 1.8= -100.8 +32 = -68f, or still bloody cold!!!

Thanks, dtouch1, that makes sense.

I made an error - instead of deducting the +32 from the negative -100.8, I added it. Baaaaaad timmi, cannot do math :-(

I can hear the wind whistling through my balcony door. Still snowing... Still January... Brrrrrr. No carpets, cold floor, goose bumps...

Off to make a nice hot tea. Care to join me?

OK, one more thing. I think the weather is affecting my score too ?! It's steadily dropping, just like the temperature. I don't think hot tea will fix that :-)))

I am in Labrador and it was -56 c with Windchill yesterday you will not wear a tank yop here...hehe

I'm in Michigan, but can't even imagine the weather and road conditions in Canada. My observation driving to work this morning (on ice and snow) was that the southern truck drivers were in the right lane using their tractor gear, the midwest truck drivers were in the center lane doing 50mph, and the canadian truck drivers were in the left lane doing 70mph+.

a newfe eh....I knew someone who lived up there in goose bay (? I think thats it)

she always had stories of a Moose that lived near here and would come to her back yard all the time, she said it was there so much it was like her pet

scrum8, that is funny. Canadians seem to drive like maniaks even in bad weather (at least some). I try to stay away from the roads when it gets this bad. It is really frustrating to drive in this weather. Sometimes it is faster to just walk than driving on the highways.

Still snowing today. Snowplows are busy. It is very dark & greay outside. Not very inspiring... maybe it just inspires me to crowl back to bed :-))

We'll be walking, and running this weekend. I'll have 300+ scouts at the annual Klondike Derby. I can sleep at home though instead of camping since I'm not a scoutmaster anymore. I think I'm going to make the HQ next to the Fire Building skill station. I'm hoping for lots of good candid shots.
