Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro for Nikon

I have a local contest in about two weeks, and have to narrow down my entries to just 5. I've listed the ones that I along with a couple other people think are the best of my choices. I'd appreciate some more opinions on what to choose. They'll all have to be framed by the 13th so I have a couple days to choose but that's about it.

Hey Chez, I really like #'s 1,2,and4. Now that you have added 2 more, i also like the Orchid. Hope this helps and good luck with the contest.

Thanks Chris. Tear is my absolute favorite picture, but I figure I'm a bit prejudiced. :)

Honestly Chez, Remembering is probably your strongest shot of the bunch. If this doesn't win something I would be very suprised. It just evokes tons of emotion.

It would help to know something about the theme of the contest, or is it just an open subject thing?

Snarl, without a doubt.

It looks like the kid is having fun and conveys it through the picture. The others look a little samey to me... sorry for saying that but if i had to pay money for one and hang it on my wall, it'd be snarl cos it makes me smile.

There is no theme it's just a county fair. So anything goes.

As for Snarl. She was definately having fun, she was making faces at herself in the lens. I would have missed it totally except she was actually vocally snarling at herself!

My favorites are Kissing Petals, Thinking, Tear, Dew Kissed Plumbage, Spring Fairy, Petal Support, Petal Soft, and Nay & Mila.

That's more than 5 but I narrowed it down a little, lol. My 2 favorites are Kissing Petals and Thinking. But they are all great.

I'll put in another vote for tear. It really stands out and grabs me into the emotion of the image.

Now that the challenge is over I can add this one as well. I've never gotten any BAd comments.... didn't hear much at all from DPC, but everyone who see's it out in the real world seems to think it's wonderful.

I like very much 1 and 2 but if you can take again the 5 shot with the petals the only think in perfect focus that would be my favorite...Hope i help

I wanted to thank you all for your input. I also was taking a poll by email and with everyone who I could find yesterday.

The current top choices are

Tear
Remembering
Breathless

then a pack of
Thinking
Kissing Petals
Nay and Mila
Center of Beauty

So unless I hear a lot more. I'm going to go with
Tear, Remembering, Breathless, Nay and Mila, and Center of Beauty.

Just can't have ALL of them with the same subject, even if she is my favorite.

In addition to my blue ribbon.

My 14 year old son entered to pictures which inadvertantly judged as adult instead of youth (therefore against me even flail). But even so he got an honorable mention!!!

So now we have 7 beautifully framed prints two with ribbons to put up on our studio wall.

Oh there's that too. Thursday we are due to close on a purchase of a working studio!.

How's that for growth?!?!
