Hi all,

I got nice feedback on my recent Action shot and decided to do a bit of editing on the image using the suggestion to lighten it up.

Riverside Ride (entered)

Riverside Ride II (updated - not entered)

Do you find it to be an improvement over the original that was submitted? I like them both because I wanted that darker tone, but I do see the benefits of lightening the photo so more details are visible.

Thoughts?

I think I prefer the darker one, it has more of a mood to it. Of course for the most part I prefer darker images.

I agree that the darker one is better. It seems to have more "character".

The first one is definitely moody with the softer nongraphic edge. Composition is very good as the overall picture but more blurring of the bicyclist peddling would have given more feeling of action.

I usually prefer darker photos but I'll have to say I really like the lighter one better. It really brings out the scene and seems kind of lonesome. Where as the dark one doesn't really bring out that feeling for me.
