actually i'd take it as a compliment. look at it this way, a camera isn't a "passive" tool. it is an "active" tool, in a sense, it should not be likened to other passive tools like pans, pots, kettles. they should be treated like other active tools, like a racer's car, or a typists typewriter - where although the skills are needed, the active tool aids in a significant way. |

Artists (like everyone else) have a certain conceptual intertia, a tendency to keep to their own compass heading even as the world itself veers off another direction. When Columbus returned from the New World and proclaimed the earth was round, almost everyone else went right on believing the earth was flat. Then they died - and the next generation grew up believing the world was round. That's how people change their minds.

Pravda and Izvestia were "newspapers" in the USSR and the word Pravda means Truth and Izvestia means News.
