I guess the softward is so good counterfeiters are using it to make fake money. It certainly seems like a violation of privacy. Guess their just going along with the times.

The technology in Photoshop is not "spyware", which refers to software that gathers information about you without your consent and trasmits that information back to some location for someone else's use - typically for advertising purposes, but potentially for more nefarious reasons.
I'm not saying whether or not the anti-counterfeiting measures in Photoshop are good or bad, but it is a mistake to suggest that the feature is "spyware", which implies that the feature not only prevents you from copying currency, but reports you to the authorities. That is not the case based on what I have read about the technology.
Likewise, saying it's a violation of privacy doesn't make any sense. Preventing you from doing something with a piece of software is not a violation of privacy. |
