If you've been getting random errors today, now you know why. We've made some major changes to the structure of the site -- mainly that the only distinction between voters and photographers and their functionality on the site is that a user is considered a photographer if he has a camera set in his preferences.

We hope our previously 'voter' users will enjoy being able to see everything the photographers did, and are perhaps even motivated to get a camera and join in the fun. Please be sure to let us know if you've bought a camera because of the site -- sponsors will love that, hint hint.

We'll be rolling out new features just as quick as we can, so if you see any errors that don't disappear within 30 minutes or so, please e-mail us to let us know. anything@dpchallenge.com will get to us.

Oh, and Langdon did almost all of the work associated with this move ... I just post in the forums and take credit for it. :)

You both are doing a great job. This is turning into an invaluable learning site for me.

I agree with you. Drew and Langdon are making this a great site, and improving on it all the time. It has heightened my interest in photography and has inspired me to push harder to learn since I am just beginning in my venture in photography. I had a digital camera that was a low end camera, and knew that I needed a new one. Once I was introduced to this site, it hooked me, and caused me to make buying a new camera a priority. It has certainly made a difference not only in the quality of my shots, but in the learning that accompanies it. Thanks Drew and Langdon for all you are doing and keep up the good work.

I just want to weigh in as well to tell you what a great job you are doing with this site. It's really pushed me to expand my horizons and test the limits of my ability. As a direct result of this I found I wanted the flexibility that a more advanced camera would offer, and in April I ended up replacing my old camera with the one I use now.

I already had the $700 camera on order when I joined and I've been waiting for it ever since while getting by with my little camera and occaisionally my mom's. My new one ought to be here next week though, so look for my photography to go way downhill :-)

Great work and not nearly appreciated enough, so now the other shoe.

I tried to start a new Forum thread in the RANT section, but it sent me back to the Forums menu. Tried several others, same result.

Can you please check this code?

Just wondering, who are the sponsors?

None yet :) But if anyone's affiliated with someone who might be interested, we're certainly open to it.

I bought a wide end conversions lens. Does that count? I haven't had time to try it yet though. :( And thanks so much for such a fun and entertaining site. :)

Wow, I just noticed that we can update fields on the photo we submitted, without having to unsubmit and resubmit..... very nice change.

I totally agree - I've submitted & unsubmitted photos several times for some challenges, changing my mind on what to call it etc, so this is a very welcome addition - thanks langdon/drew!
