I hope none of you ever have to sit at your desk, here the news and have to
rush arround calling your friends to make sure they are ok.

It must be a terrible burden to be oh so politically correct.

Slippy, I usually enjoy your offbeat humor. But you really need to learn to be aware of how you affect others. Someone dies and 30 people are injured, and you insist on making jokes, despite others saying it's not funny.

Mocking people's concern is just ridiculous.

I also think you'd do well to stretch just a bit and imagine living in a city that's been spectacularly and repeatedly attacked by terrorists, and trying to quickly learn the cause of a serious explosion. No, this wasn't terrorism, but you don't know that in the opening moments.

I know that 9/11 has receded in memory in most places around the world, but let me tell you as someone who works in DC: it's just under the surface here. And I imagine it's the same in New York.

For those of you who don't know what we're talking about, a pipe full of steam exploded in New York yesterday.

I don't think it has anything to do with being PC... what if you or your family were directly affected by this? Would it be so funny? I think not!!!! Show a little compassion, please... the world really needs it right now.

Generally I don't find situations where many people are injured and much life is disrupted funny. Hopefully you will stop putting down anyone who doesn't agree with you about the hilarity of the scene.

I didn't say it was funny, but am pointing out how crazy it is how seriously you take yourselves. You can blame yourselves and your own hysteria & hype for the one woman who died of a heart attack. Surely she was brainwashed into thinking it was a terrorist attack.

my remembers of the 9/11 was the crazy traffic after and during the news. I was in the car with the radio on and I remember the faces of two american soldiers in their car near the my car.

I remember scores of people along the Westside highway cheering as the giant Sysco refrigerated trucks were heading to ground zero. Everyone thought they were bringing food downtown. Those trucks were empty.

It is very easy some other people to make fun of such thing as terrorist attacks to other countries... but when happens at home, they wait the same interest! One day, if they attack to Canada and kill 3000 people, I will make fun of a gas explosion as "Terrorist gas exploded in Canada panicking 4", see if you laugh about it.

We all live on our toes here, even in NJ... I know too far from you guys, but remember "poetic justice"... if not, you should start believing it. my advice.

You can threaten Canada all you want, but you don't have a chance against our mounted police.

I expect nothing from anybody but myself, and have since learned that anything you have can be taken away at any instant. I prefer to enjoy life rather than dwell on it.
