Can I canvas people's opinions on whether a shot that features a face, but not as the major element, would be voted down as a DNMC?

I'd say no - description says face shouldn't be a major element -- doesn't say NO FACES!

The title says Faceless and no one reads the description. You'd be doomed!

True, but there are voters who will take the description too literally, and vote down all shots with even a hint of a face in them.

Wow, this would have been the perfect challenge for this shot:

Maybe it would have done better here than it did in the Candid IV challenge.

Would something like that conceder faceless extreme emotion?

I could see that going both ways. It would certainly trigger extreme emotion in someone, but perhaps doesn't show emotion itself. Would depend heavily on voter interpretation, and that doesn't usually translate to a big score unfortunately.

so what counts as an extreme emotion then?
extremely sad?
extremely happy?

I am in with a 'still life' photo into 'Extreme Emotion - Faceless ' challenge. (there are too many entries into still life challenge, so ... )

I was waiting on the arrival of a new lens which arrived today. So finally got the opportunity to shoot. Processed the image, not a huge fan of the outcome, and I expect the voters will concur. Stranger things have happened.

Wish I woulda saved this for this challenge, or would that have been too much face? :p
