I saw this camera at Walmart and I thought the price is pretty good. This time I didn't buy it (learned my lesson) but I went and did a bunch of research and read reviews. I like a lot of things about the camera. The fact is that I pretty much can't afford anything right now. I wish I could get a Cannon 300D or Fuji S1 or S2 but I'm in bad shape $wise and I might be jobless in 3 or 4 months so I can't even think of spending that kind of money.
What struck me about the toshiba is the full manual controls. Ok it's only 3.2 mp, but I would really like to be able to be able to set the aperture and exposure to whatever I want. Looks like you can do exposures as long as 15 seconds.
I know there are better cameras out there, but I doubt I could find one at that price.
Should I jump at it? |

have no idea about this particular camera - i used to have an olympus c-3000 and was very happy with it. i don't know if you can manually set exposures that long, but it does have aperture + shutter priority and manual shooting modes. unfortunately, it uses the old smartmedia memory card which has been discontinued in newer cameras. it's a pretty good camera (in my opinion, others might beg to differ) - you can get one used on eBay with some of the basic accessories/stuff for about $150 i think.. although eBay can be sketchy at times, and i don't know how you feel about used products. in the end, it might be wiser to go with something more current/still supported if you can afford it, although it does look like user reviews on dpreview.com of this camera are fairly solid.
