Ok, my cousin just got a D70 and I noticed something about it. When I look at the files in Bridge or at the file info in Photoshop, the ISO setting is never displayed. I remember back when I had my D70, it was the same way, no ISO setting in the metadata. However, I found out this was only the issue when I shot jpg. If I shoot RAW, then the ISO setting is listed with the other data.

Why is this? Is this the case for you guys? Is there somewhere to turn this on or something?

I just took a look at some of my D70 files. I found the same, that the ISO only shows in Photoshop if the file is a NEF. However I use Thumbs to catalog my photos and it will show the ISO for both NEF and JPG, so I can only conclude that this is a Photoshop/Bridge issue. I have no idea how to fix it.

Edit to add: I have just tried with various other programs and they all show the ISO for JPGs, but so far no luck on making Photoshop do it.

This is a known issue. The D70 encodes the ISO into the EXIF strangely when shooting JPEG. The only way to view the ISO is to look at the file with your Nikon software. This isn't an issue for RAW files though. It's possible there are other software packages that have figured out how to get at the JPEG ISO data. Since I haven't shot JPEG in a long time, I'm not really current on the issue.

My Canon point and shoot does the same thing it not only does not put the iso in the standard exif field it encodes it where ever it puts it.
