Story here...

I do have to laugh when people who not only say wrastler but spell it too.

This is an odd read.

What's wierd is that CNN and FOX haven't picked it up...

technically, I think it is spelled "wrassler" as in someone who "wrassles"

regardless, that is sad

I don't think there's a "w" ... so "rassler"

yes, very sad.

Man...that's rough. So hard to believe too. I'm shocked. I feel the same as when I found out Phil Hartman was murdered. It just hits you right below the belt.

ETA: Living in Calgary, its like being in the Mecca of wrestling. A lot of professional wrestlers were trained by the Hart family in this city.

Him, his wife AND son, all found dead. All they've said was that they weren't shot. Weird....

FOX News (tv) just said that Benoit possibly killed his wife and son over the weekend, then himself today. How sad :(

Seems now that it is being treated as a murder/suicide.

that's very sad, he was a great wrestler!

Damn. I knew Chris back in the late 80s and early 90s when he was living in Calgary. we used to train at the same gym...despite the wrasslin' persona he always seemed like a really decent guy. This kind of thing makes you question the shape of the earth sometimes.

I just heard bout this-- so was it a murder suicide?
If so I cant believe he would kill his own family?--

I got home from work and turned on Monday night raw and seen the tribute, and immediately thought another steriod death, then I googled it and saw it was the whole family-- wow

This really sucks. So sad to read stuff like this...

I gotta wonder why you'd do a tribute to a guy who just killed his family. Strikes me as a bit tasteless. Perhaps at the time they didn't know that part.

I don't think they knew... and it's still just speculation.

Until the autopsy results the cause of death will remain unknown.

Still, this just plain sucks. I was never his biggest fan but I respected him as he was one tough SOB, not that great on the mic, but if he said 2+2=5 then 2+2= goddam 5.

A shame for the WWE, especially from a business sense as it seems to be going through a rough patch.

RIP Chris Benoit.

Investigation appears to show he strangled his wife, smothered his son and then hung himself Monday. Gets weirder every day.

Actually isn't it Wrestler? Not Wrassler?

maybe it was 'roid rage gone terribly bad... plain and simple... I doubt if it's much more than that so conspiracy theorists can take a rest on this one.

Who said anything about a tribute? Did I miss a previous post?

USA did a tribute to Benoit instead of showing Raw last night.

Yes. We were making a play on words about how it is generally said, phonetically.

they did a tribute and then heard about the murder/suicide angle aspect afterwards. It sounds like the WWE is now trying to distance themselves from him as much as possible.
