I am part of another website called soaphoto.com, there is a member on this site that is STEALING photographers work. He has stolen several from ezinephoto *Unsure of the Spelling*.

Here is a link to the thief's site, his ID is Sakota. Check to make sure he didn't steal yours!

By the way, if this link doesn't work, just go to soaphoto.com and type "sakota" under the ID.

blown sky, weird top cut off, centered subject..wtf don't know maybe he's just showing how he evolved lol

i don't understand why people steal others images to make them look good. i could understand stealing a copy, printing it and showing it in your bedroom or living room, for your personal enjoyment, but i don't understand how some one can try to make people belive that they are theirs... what happens if some one asks you to do a wedding and you do, and you suck... Grrr... theives make me angry.

I've seen this one before, and I don't really frequent other photography sites so I think it's probably a DPCer; anyone recognize it? I couldn't find it in a quick DPC image search:

//www.soaphoto.com/upload_files/album/sakota/beggar3(3)_b.jpg

Note that I freely license my stuff for re-use by others (check my profile); but even I require that they acknowledge it as mine and don't claim it as their own. Pretty sad, really.

Best,

Rob

Hi Rob, thx for your research, I don't recognize any of the work he has posted, but SOA members have found and contacted the original photographers to inform them of their stolen work. Hopefully all photographers will eventually be notified.

This looks familiar, pretty sure it belongs to a dpc'er

One of the photos in his portfolio, titled Washington 16 actually has the real photographer's name on it.

Yes. It's near Ingleton in the Yorkshire Dales.

The one that gets me is the image titled "Getting Older" in the People album. It has the real photographer's name and a copyright mark.

I'm pretty sure the photograph "Asylum" is something this thief snapped just before they escaped.

Well I just checked this ahole out. He has work from Bear Music and Silverscreen. I'm sure I recognized others work just can't be sure. However there is one there of a single tree that I'm positive is Bears.

Why is his account still up and open?
06/17/2007 10:25:36 PM · #24
I'm recognizing some pictures as dpc'ers' and another photo site I check out. If the site knows his images are stolen from other photographers, why can we still view his "album"?

Is it just me... or do some people get all excited when they see in hopes that work is actually good enough to steal? Then, when I don't see my photos, I get a little down hearted.

Ok, maybe I'm just weird! :)
