OK, this is something I really can not grasp... really, this is not a rant.

What is it about a virtual ribbon that makes people so insane?

Why does everyone think everyone else is cheating? Why does everyone accuse everyone else of not voting the "correct" way?

I seriously don't understand it. If it were big money, maybe I could, but an icon? Someone help me wrap my brain around this.

i am just as confused as you are. There is no rhyme or reason to this...

I think there are cheating theories simply because cheating has been proven to have occured in the past so it's not unfounded, that combined with the fact that some people get so attached to a shot that it becomes hard to except a low score when it happens so they need to find a reason for it. I dont care so much anymore but I got upset(no conspiracy theories though) about one of my very first scores. looking back it was a horrible picture but for some odd reason I just couldn't see that at the time.

edited for typos

Leroy you sound like you need a break, come hang out in the Team Suck beach house for awhile. The beers cold and we've got a spare hammock.

The paper clips are wussies, its the tacks you have to worry about. They can be real pricks at times :P

Reposting your original in an attempt to thwart the hijackers ;)

Ego.
We believe our shots are better than their scores show, so we try to find reasons beyond our control to explain the "low" scores.

Yep, and if you're not at the beach house in 5 minutes I'm stealing your hammock and drinking your beer.

Does any one have taken advantage or getting something else just because they won a ribbon?

I think this is just a kind of pride, but just between us, outside of DPC a ribbon doesn't mean anything.

Let's try to having fun, that is what matter here.

Nope - hopeless.
I read it on the Internet.

Like i suggested in another thread... For the DPL season do the following:

1 - Double the Exclusive challenges
2 - Assign teams to specific challenges ie - half teams to challenge 1 and 2, half to 3 and 4 or quarter teams to 1, quarter to 2, 3 and 4 blah blah
3 - remove the ability to vote on the challenge you or team are assigned to and entered in

results:
- The restriction to vote on your teammates entries = no biased voting.
- Fewer entries in each challenge so less of a daunting task when you click the challenge and see 300 entries you have to vote for. You're also cutting the number of votes per week in half.
- and more

Voila, paranoia reduced. Being that its the internet, it can never be removed entirely.
