I'm there. Bring it.

Please, desat carfully. DPC is a fickle bunch and overall doesn't score them well, so this better be good! :D

i forget, is there any restrictions on how to do your selective desat? is using the history brush to do it allowed?

I hate selective desaturation, usually... Results from last time

Wouldn't be my preferred method of doing it, but yes.

do you do it by duplicating layer then use layer masking?

It JUST so happens we're discussing how to use quick masks as an improvement over lassos in the PS 101 thread this week (taught by Art ROFLMAO). Here's the one I'm mentoring:

don't forget the non selective way (hue/sat) if your colors are right.

Glad to see I won't be DQ'd for it this time lol. I used masking to desat on one of the challenges going on right now (basic editing) and now everytime I log in I have to see that DQ sitting there where an UPDATE button should be :(

Now if I can just find a similar subject...going to check local events for this next week.

Its interesting with the building and all but id leave only the sign with color. It pops and would have a cold cold back ground.

I personally would stray away from using stop signs, they are one of hte most overused selective colour shots, that and flowers

Hmm...good point. Of course I was thinking of using other signage but then again...so will everyone else. :)

I was thinking that here comes a lot of flowers.

Should the desat be total desaturation or could it be say...75% desat?
