Few sports have as storied a history as American baseball. Few teams have as storied a history as the New York Yankees. Winners of 26 World Series titles, they are the only team to have every position represented in the Hall of Fame. Because of their success and the owner’s (George Steinbrenner) willingness to spend more money than anybody else, passions run strong when conversation about The Yankees arise. They are loved. They are hated. Still, their professional demeanor and adherence to tradition has left them the class act of all of sports.

Until now.

Taking the field in the inaugural season of the Digital Photography League, the Ribbon Hogs look to follow, and possibly eclipse, the winning traditions of the New York Yankees.

Although there are no DPC “All Stars”, the team owns a combined total of 133 ribbons (including 54 blue ribbons). Of the 35 pictures to ever score 8.0 on DPC, they own 8. Only 5 DPC members have ever scored above 8.0 more than once. Two are no longer active on DPC; the other three are Hogs.

The Ribbon Hogs will play with pinstriped professionalism and class. When a team needs to be crushed, The Ribbon Hogs will do so without rancor or ill will. Nevertheless, The Ribbon Hogs will proceed down their path of destiny to win the first DPL ribbon in history.

Let’s meet the members:
Scalvert, librodo, Larus, alexsaberi, DrAchoo, Falc, and De Sousa

So let the whispers begin. The Ribbon hogs will accept it all. Bring on the adoration. Bring on the animosity. However, if you are lucky enough to face The Hogs, you’d better bring all you got…

In the name of reconciliation Shannon has agreed to listen to Christian radio in the clubhouse. I now sport a "Darwin" fish on the back of my black Mercedes.

That DQ was no Brown! It was, um... a ribbon whose life was tragically cut short. ;-)

By your editing? Hahahahaa

I'm not worried, you boys will be so busy looking at each others ribbons in the locker room, you'll forget about challenges. :)

Rain the brown you are referring to is an april fools joke ribbon from a while ago, not a last place ribbon.

Wow nice history lesson. Lets learn a little more shall we. How about we list from most recent back, some recent world series winners.
2006 St. louis Cardnials
2005 Chicago White Sox
2004 Boston Red Sox
2003 Florida MArlins
2002 LA (or whatever they are called now) angels
2001 Arizona Diamond backs
hmm no Yankees there despite having the most talented team. seems that teamwork is more important that all stars:P

now name me 3 players that played on the Marlins, Angels or white sox. mY point is that they were mostly no name players that played well as a team. Two of the above actually beat your beloved Yanks to win the world series. You mention the Yankees paying more than anyone else. WE can reasonably asume that a higher payroll= people with better resumes. WE can also then make the connection that more ribbons= a better resume. The following is a list of teams that currently have a better record than the Yankees. The nunber is thier payroll and by Jason's logic, more money = a better team.
Boston red sox 120 million
Baltimore oriels 72 million
Detroit tigers 82 million
cleveland Indians 56 million
Chicago white sox 102 million
La angels 103
Oakland A's 67
Seattle mariners 82
Atlanta braves 92
ny mets 100
Milwaukee brewers 50
Houston astros 92
Chicago cubs 94
LA dodgers 99
San Diego padres 68
San francisco giants 90
Arizona Diamondbacks 58
The Yankees have a payroll of over 220 million.

That is more than half of every baseball team doing better than the Yankees. as you can see i had to start typing less info for fear of carpel tunnel.

So you can brag about your PAST ribbon count all you want, The Ribbon hogs will end up just like the Yankees, sitting home come playoff time. GO SOX!
Click Click Boom in season 1!
