I am wondering what people think is the best photo printing paper to use. I need to do high volume printing off site, but I want the best quality output I can get. Before I start experimenting I thought I'd ask the experts.

Thanks

IMO you should use the best you can afford that is made for your printer.

I have a Canon printer and get the best results from Canon paper.

Funny thing - but I've found the best possible paper depends HIGHLY on the printer. My HP printer SUCKS with anything but the best HP papers. My Canon printer, however worked great with Epson papers. I would say buy the best quality paper you can that will work well with your printer. Usually starting with your printer's recommended paper is a good idea.

I'd also recommend your printer's recommended papers. Although if you're doing small size printing with a Canon printer and can use letter sized paper then Office Depot's Premium High Gloss Photo Paper is every bit as good as Canon's Photo Paper Pro and comes at a savings.

I recently got a printer, an canon iP4300 ($60 new - how could I say no).

I asked around and most everyone says to go with the papers that are designed for your printer.

However, I want to do some watercolor type prints and some on cavas type textured papers - any suggestions on what papers and where to get them?

Check out Inkjet Art. They are local to me, so I just walk in off the street to buy my paper there. But the vast majority of their sales is online.

I have a friend who works at HP. He says for any printer you will get best, most lasting results if you match the paper to the ink.

I suppose that's why the pictures I print on the cheap Costco paper always fade.

Who put in the extra long link so the forum needs to be scrolled sideways? ;oP

Use the globe icon and enter text in the second box so the link isn't too wide.

I have an HP and a canon printer. The HP uses only HP photo paper, anything else and its just horrid to look at. The Canon on the other hand what I have found is that for my 4X6 Epson Photo paper looks best and for 8.5X11 and down I use Illford Gallery. Both are very economical and have great results with my Canon IP4300. I can buy 100 4x6 for $12 usd and 100 8.5x11 Illford for $25.
