Nepotism that is ;)

ETA: No problem here, I even suggested as much on the other thread. It is cool to have another less-than-30-years-old team member ;)

48 teams are finalized now!!! that means we are ready to rumble!!

How about new team cards? I just can't really get hold of some biker's gear should we use one of our own pics again?? some SPs?

Aren't we the quiet ones! Just on my way to drop kids off at school. Let me know if there is any way I can help with cards etc.
I'll be online again in about 1/2 hour.
Can't wait to start as well.

I'm the starving artist type of person, being a professional photog is my life long goal, i love doing it, i have a lovely girlfriend of 2 years , an awesome family. i have my future plan in life posted in my bio on my page if would like to read it as well

05/09/2007 07:54:17 PM · #20
I know there is some info on our biographies but still...

Here is my introduction:

My name is Ivan, however, because of my last name some friends call me VALDO which is the nickname I've chosen for DPC. I am a Mexican crazy enough to return to school after several years to study a PhD abroad in UK, I am the oldest of my group which is funny at times :) I have a wife and a daughter and has been a blast to learn how to live in a completely different country with a tremendous mix of cultures. Now we are in Mexico since I am doing data collection for my dissertation, we are coming back late July I hope. Dain I hope we could meet next time we visit London!

My interest in photography started like 3/4 years ago and I just bought my first DSLR back in November. I have learned a lot from DPC but don't have the time I'd like to participate. I hope we could learn more from each other and have a long time friendship on the net ;)

ETA: Short version
Name: Ivan Valdovinos
Age: 31
Hometown: Guadalajara, Mexico living in Manchester, UK
Accountant and Master in Finance
Now I am a starving PhD student trying to make my way in a different country while trying to enjoy as much as possible of my wife, baby and photography hobby.

Name: Naomi Kevin
Location: Melbourne Australia
Job; Nothing I get paid for!
Hobbies: Collecting Christmas ornaments, photography, making things.
Places I want to visit: Antartica, Hawaii, more of Europe, the real America and lots more places that aren't very safe to visit unfortunately.
Looks like I'm the oldest (not necessarily the wisest). 45 years old, married 21 years with 2 daughters 21 and 13. I live in Melbourne, Australia ( a really great city). Travelled a lot in my younger days. I'm very creative. Love working with my hands. Last big thing I made was a moving life size camel for a Christmas pageant. It seemed only natural that I take up photography seriously. I had the eye, but not the technical skills. It's still a surprise to me when one of my photos does well!
My background is a mixture of Irish (my dad) and Sri Lankan/Scottish (my mum). This has given me access and the best of both western and eastern worlds which is often visible in my photographs.
Been in two other wpl teams and hoping to have lots of fun, make new friends and really do well in the competition.

name : Dain McGowan
age : 32
living in London, but originally from the sticks rural England.

work in the construction industry producing blue prints for guys to build from.

loved taking pictures for years and always had a point and shoot in my pocket. never even considered upgrading to an SLR until last november when i bought a canon. 1 week after that i found this site and entered my first challenge.

until i picked up an SLR i didn't realise why point and shoots were called point and shoots. i figured that with an SLR you point, turn the lens a bit and then shoot. how wrong i was.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
as for cards / logo thingys... it was suggested that we wear biker gear.
as this was around the time the site was crazy with april fools jokes and i didnt do it. could still be an option though!

------------------------------------------------------------------

alex - boggy... what a cool name for a town!

ivan - let me know when your in london and we'll go out shooting!

My daughter started at age 7, I know GeneralE has a son that started even younger, so I guess the answer is no.
