Whenever I use the remote switch on my Rebel XT, it triggers the 10-second timer. I cannot figure out how to switch the option off the timer and have it take an instant picture. Can someone help me out?

I think there's a choice between 2 sec and 10 sec on that remote. Check to see what you've got set. Also, the manual may help. ;o)

No, there is a choice between 10 seconds or nothing (if this is the wired remote you're talking about). You don't have to put the camera into the self timer/remote mode to use the wired remote, just leave it in single shot or burst in order to take a picture instantly.

Thank you, I'll give it a try later.
