Hello, everyone is so kind to respond to my questions that I thought I'd give it another go. I am trying to upload my "profile" image. I resized my photo to the required size (I believe 120x90), but it won't take it...I don't know if anyone can answer this question, but if you think you know what I am doing wrong I would appreciate it, thx!

What about the file size requirement? I dont remember if there was one. Makes sure its a JPG. What exact error are you getting?

Basicly cant help you with what youve said so far. The error your getting would help.

Hi, when I size it to what it requires and try and post it, a pop up comes up and states my photos is 67 x 120, when infact I resized it to 120x90...and said to try again, I'm so confused what I am doing wrong, but if you can't help it's quite alright, I do appreciate your time though!

what program are you using to resize it?

Hmm, that's strange, 67x120 doesn't even make a common aspect ratio. If you want, post the photo you want to use in here (or in your portfolio), and this afternoon when I get home I'll give it a try for you and post it back in here and see if that works.

LOL, that's another struggle for me, I can't seem to figure out how to copy paste my photo here...I'm used to a browse button popping up. If it's not to much trouble, the photo is in my portfolio, I didn't get a chance to title it or add description...but I think I just called it "me", it's a half face. Your so kind, but if you don't have time don't worry about it, I just appreciate you trying, thx again!

I tried microsoft publisher. But what I did first was just to go in my pictures, right click and choose resize...than used advance for custom sizing.

Go to the folder on your computer where the image is. Mouse over the image so the details pop up. What dimensions does it show? I suspect it will show something other than 90 x 120.

It's possible that the original is not of the right aspect ratio to get you a 90 x 120 image. If the constrain box is ticked then the other side will not be 90. If this is the case, untick the box and set the dimensions as required. This will skew your image a bit but may not be too bad. Otherwise, change the aspect ratio so you can get a 90 x 120 image out of it.

it has to be EXACTLY 90x120 or 120x90 add a border on either side till you get there.

I just grabbed the original, and Colette is right on all counts. The original, when resized with "constrain proportions" checked gives a 69x120 image. My recommendation would be to add some black to the right side to get it to the 90x120 (or 600x800 for the original) aspect ratio. To help you see what this will look like, I made one for you.

If you like (to save you some work - if you like it like this), you can right click the image above, choose save, and put it somewhere on your computer. Then, just browse to your newly saved image from your preferences screen.

Very cool image, I saw that one earlier and thought that would be a great profile pic. But as cpanaioti said, it will not rezize to exactly 120x90 without some skewing involved, and there's not enough room to really crop it down vertically. You could always increase the canvas size on the sides and maybe put black on either side to get it to proper dimensions.

Edit: Dang, too sloooooowwwwwww.

one easy way to do it in ps is to set your crop dimensions to 90 px x 120 px and then simply crop what you want...

I crop to the aspect ratio first, then resize. Works every time.

It sounds like it may be under control.

Just a bit of tech lingo.

Your profile picture is actually known as your 'avatar'.

Good luck.
