I've been meaning to post this for a while now. When I first saw this on TV it struck more as a photography shoot than an mtv music video. You can pretty much pause it at any given time and have a quality photograph. There are definitely some undeniable similarities to portrait photography (lighting and DOF)and even commercial (solid white background). And at times it's almost as if someone from DPC was directing it...hmmm.

Anyway I was wondering if anyone else has had the same experience when viewing a music vid or has found one that is just visually pleasing. Could be a good learning experience to transfer ideas from one medium to another. Thanks!

btw, it's also a nice song, also a tad emotional.

You are absolutly right about getting inspired by well done music videos, also well done movies they all have great effects with light and camera angles.

Yes, I thought that was especially true in Schindle's List. I always think about the scene in that movie where the little girl in the red coat walks through a city being taken over by Nazis. In a movie where everything was in black and white, selective color really had an emotional impact in the same way that it can have in photography.

The girl in red-Warning: Graphic

nice examples. I've always wanted to do a slideshow like that, but I don't know how to on Studio 9. I know how to do Final Cut Pro from school, but I can't even upload my video from my DVD camcorder onto studio 9...so frustrating.
