Bah, I could have saved a fortune and got Nokia N95.

Not really.

Can't remember who originally said it, but I've always liked the saying: The best camera is the one you have with you.

I love the way the Nokia N95 does a better job of auto white balance than the 400D.

Of course we don't know how they compare under other lighting conditions; tungsten definitely seems to be the weak point of the Canons.

From the website:

All the shots were taken with devices taken straight out of the box, and we used the default settings or an automatic mode if there was one.

So they're proving that a DSLR can do the same thing that a P&S does. :) Besides, I thought the person holding the camera had a lot to do with the quality of the picture.

I love how what they refer to as "vibrant colors" of the Nokia is blown oversaturated channels.

And in one place that actually use the words oversaturated colors to describe the results. Make up your mind people.

It only looked oversatured/blown due to the flash as far as i can tell. Then again without the flash it would have been overexposed.

Just how would of it been over-exposed without a flash? The over-saturated look was NOTHING to do with flash. Colour saturation are the realms of in-camera post-processing.

Saying that however, as much it is a piss-poor review and an appalling piece of techinical journalism/reviewing, I was very surprised at the results from the Nokia. A guy at work has one of the Nokias and the FMV output on it when viewed on a LCD is nothing short of superb.

Yeah, I've often felt that to be one of the areas lacking for Canon. Maybe they should license the algorythm from Nokia.
