Do any of the members here sell directly to clients/businesses? If so, how did you manage doing it? Just looking for a basic idea. Lets say you have a really great photo of your city, and you think it would do well as a poster for that city, who would you contact. Or perhaps you did a great advert for a product (Maybe something you submitted to DPC), would that be something you could try and sell directly to that maker. Or would they just tell you no thank you, even if it's a good photo?

I have. But I am also a designer. On occassion, I have "bought stock" from myself.

I know of some photographers who have sold through their own websites, but not very much. It's not a strong business model. Better to use agencies.
