I'm in the market for a new point-n-shoot and saw the Nikon P5000 at Bel Aire Camera yesterday and was really impressed by it. It's smaller and lighter than the Canon G7 and costs less I think, too. Has anyone compared the two (P5000 and G7) closely? Has anyone seen sample photos from the P5000? I'm looking forward to the P5000 review at dcresource but was wondering if anyone has real-life experience owning one of those puppies.

Hi Akamai here are some sample's which are taken today as I bought the p5000 today.
Hope it will help you make your decision.
My first impressions is that this is a very fast and accurate camera when it comes to autofocus and startup time.
Other than that i haven't been playing around with it, as I've been recharging the battery...

I just returned this camera as I was not satisfied with the picture quality, most likely because I am very picky and thought the noise was too much for me to handle. There simply isn't an alternative to a DSLR.
Insted I bought a Super Wide angle lens for my DSLR which I am very happy with.
