Can I do that to comments people make?
I just signed up and did a search of the forum and didnt see anything. My guess is that I cannot since there would have been a reply button somewhere, but had to ask anyway.

Also, I am pretty new at taking photos a bit more seriously (have always been the person with the camera at parties etc..), and I have to say that the pictures I see here are really an inspiration!

Hey, nothing against it as far as I know, SC please correct me if I'm wrong. But you may want to try and avoid getting into any debates with commentors as it has turned ugly on occasion....

Click on the users name and it'll take you to their profile. And you can private message them from there.

Check their profile notes first though, some people don't like being PM'd with queries about their comments or votes while the challenge is still in the voting phase.

Welcome aboard! As a couple others have pointed out, you can use the private message (PM) system to send a note to other users. I don't mind getting PMs during voting but there are people who do. If you have a question about a comment, it's probably best to wait until after the challenge is over to ask. Have fun!

I reply to thank someone for a comment as soon as I can. I dont think it would be too ethical to ask someone to reply to a comment before the challenge is finished. That was their comment on looking at the photos and voting. You would not want someone to think that you are trying to sway their vote by questioning their comment and therefore their vote. Much safer to wait until after the votes have been tallied in my opinion.

OK got it. I was wondering if it would get posted as a thread on the page my picture is, which it wont.

I wanted to thank someone and maybe ask for some pointers. I try to avoid getting into an argument with someone if they dont like something I created, it really is just thier opinion. (Of course I can imagine a situation where the critic is not critisizing the object but the person who created it)

Thanks

There were comments made to the 4th place runner up in contrejour that cracked me up..No direct light follow the rules..lol. Dont take it seriously especially if you go look at the persons profile and they just joined yesterday or they have no photos....

Just because they recently joined and have not entered any challenges doesn't mean they don't know anything or aren't entitled to their own opinion. There were plenty of viewpoints given in the lengthy discussion of what exactly constituted contre jour with many interpretations being just as valid as the next.
