Hi

I'm Looking to get a digital camera at Christmas and after looking at loads of mags websites I still don't know what to get as everyone rates them so diffrently.
The cameras that I'm looking at are Olympus MJU 400, The new Pentax Optio S4 or the Minolta Dimage F300. I'm looking for a cam with features so I can Manual sometimes, but mainly looking for good picture quality (which the F300 seems to get and at a very good price for a 5.0 megapixel) but then the Pentax is nice and small, but is the picture quality good? been to Jessops and I new more then they did...which wasn't much! So could anyone help me!!!

Thanks
Chris

Try taking a look at some of the DPChallenge entries submitted for each camera type...you can browse by camera model.

One of the better photographers on here, jjbeguin , uses a F300 and has won blue ribbons with it. And BobsterLobster sure shows how much the tiny Pentax Optio S can produce as well.

Hence, any of the cameras you listed are obviously very capable in the right hands. Also, and I'm sure you've already gone here, but dpreview.com is an excellent review site with very active forums as well.

Thanks for the compliment...
but when I can get hold of a Panasonic FX5, I will seriously think about ditching the Pentax. The prospect of a pocket camera with image stabilisation is tantalising. I'm also definitely going to get a Panasonic FZ10. But yes, the Pentax has been an excellent tool for the last few months.
