It's been said a thousand times before, but I must say it again. Everything is bigger in Texas!! The largest state capitol building in the U.S. and I must say quite beautiful.

...not quite.... I've seen some of the fish you folks catch in Texas, and up here we use those lil fellas for bait.

I believe the dome in the Wisconsin capital in Madison is the largest dome. I thought I remember that from a tour years ago?

- Mt. KcKinley/Denali is taller than any mountain in Texas
- Kilauea is more volcanic than any mountain in Texas
- Sequoia gigantea is taller than any tree in Texas

... all in fun I hope -- one thing which Texans definitely have in excess of others: an opinion of their home state : )

All this talk about Texas reminds me of a story I heard a long time ago:

Seems this french canadian was visiting this texas rancher and at one point he asked the texan: "juss ow beeg iz dat dem ranch dats you hone"

The texan paused for a bit then said: "Well, I can jump in my truck and drive all day and still not reach the other end of it"!

"I nose juss wats you meen" said the frenchman... "me too I use to hone a truck like dat, but I done gone an sole it"

Hope you weren't at the capitol for court or to pay all those taxes you owe :)

Funny posts!

OK OK...

Texas Capitol is the largest in gross square footage of all state capitols and is second in total size only to the National Capitol in Washington, D.C.

That's all.

And russell....they ain't after me yet!!

Well good... try and keep it that way. Decide if you're going back yet?

There is something about Texas that if your not from here you just can't understand. I am proud of my State...doesn't mean I think we are the best...I KNOW we are!!

Texan complains to Alaskan about becoming the second largest state since Alaska joins the Union...

Alaskan replies....

"We can always split up into 3 states and make Texas the fourth largest state!!!"

;-P

On the tours, they say the Wisconsin Capitol is the largest dome by volume. I've been there many times. It's not that loud. I don't see what the fuss is about.
