This was a hard decision too LOL

I didn't have a hard decision at all, but these are still some fun shots. :)

I think I'm going to pull 6 of them into a multi-panel thing.

I wanted to submit this, but the natural lighting wasn't great, and I, uhh, was threatened by the model and told not to put it in a challenge. Models are scary.

So I entered this, the above model's daughter:

I mentioned in Color Portrait discussion thread that I had an out of the box entry that I was thinking of entering. I was concerned that I would take a third hit in a row scorewise if I did.

Considering the quality of entries and the fact that almost all of them are people shots, I'm glad I didn't enter.

edit for the correct pic

One of these (without the logo of course) :-) Unfortunately, the only time she was available to shoot was right in the middle of the afternoon so I had to deal with the light. Luckily, I had my diffuser panel with me and used it for a lot of the photos that day.

This was the most I had to choose from for a challenge.

More shots here:

None of these are edited. Only thing I did was resize for DPC.

I'm semi satisfied with my score because scoring over my average is my mini goal for any challenge...but....
I really thought this one would score higher than it did.

The average score for the commenters is uplifting.

Two outtakes:

I actually prefer all three of these to my entry, but my original model jammed on me, so I less than an hour to shoot, upload, sort, choose, edit, and submit the photo. No one ever said I was that bright :)

Pedro: I knew there had to be something wrong for me to ALMOST beat you. ;)

Here is the series of my little model. The first is my entry, although I like the middle one the best. Obviously, I left the challenge entry in color :)

There were some awesome entries in this challenge!

I really had a hard time choosing. I love the first one because of the background but don't like her expression. I also love the second one but I was sure it would score lower because you can't see the eyes. The third one is my entry.

Just so everyone knows I am looking for advice on how to edit some of these. I still have to edit a few for her and I am open to suggestions.

the one I probabally should have gone with.

This is what I submitted:

And the next day, in the same sequence, I found this one...after some editing and cropping. I would have submitted this instead, if I saw it.

Would it have done better?

I had many to choose from, but finished shooting only a few hours before the deadline. Just enough time to download, grab one, process and submit. I really need to start sooner (and get some decent backdrops)!

For anyone interested in collages, check out Fotofusion from LumaPix.

From downloading the software to uploading my first collage was literally 10 minutes:
