I tried that setzler but it seems like the candle flame isnt enough to capture other scenes even at a lower iso speed! what should i do?

Took this the day I got my camera, before I even went home from work. It was hard to read the manual by candlelight ...

I participated on the challenge "candlelight" of the Sony Talk Forum of dpreview.com.

You can see many fine examples there of all kind of pictures take of or taken with candlelight.

here is the link :

candlelight stf challenge

the eligible gallery is for images with Sony camera's in the challenge period, the exhibition for everything else.

I guess you mean "even at higher iso speed" ?

If your camera allows you to keep the shutter open long enough, i.e. long exposure times (in the range of approx. 0.5 to 5 sec, depending on aperture and scene), then candlelight will be sufficient to light your scene.

Look at the pictures in the link I posted before, many of the pictures contain exposure details.

Its not cheating if you use other sources of light

This is only one of many variations I did for a challenge and did not submit.

It is all candle light.
