I just started experimenting with film photography and this is something I´ve come up with ....

I like the old feel of that b&wgrainyoutooffocus feel of it, but what do you guys think?

I think you nailed it. The 'b&wgrainyoutooffocus' feel as you put it sets the mood for the image.

The photo is great, but the typography could use greater integration or differentiation from the image, imo.

Great image! It reals has an "old" feel to it. What camera / film did you use?

I shot my first roll of medium format film with a Yaschia 124G twin lens reflex (TLR) on Tuesday, and a roll with my Lubitl 166B TLR the next day at lunch time. I dropped them off for developing yesterday and will pick them up tonight.

I should get my HOlga in a day or two. Woot.

I shot in color because that's all they process locally, but I will be shooting in Black and white and developing the negatives myself - the chemicals and junk should get here in a day or two. Good times, good times.

Just for a reference, I found a good free site to get some really funky fonts: www.dafont.com

Edit to add I like the grainy/out of focus effect too

I got my processed rolls (2) of 120 medium format film last night. I was expecting a train wreck, since I was only taking quick pics to make sure the shutter speeds were working correctly on the 2 (20-30 year old) cams I got on ebay.

The last pic in the gallery is an unintentional double exposure. If you don't advance the film, the camera won't tell you :P

To meter, are you using a separate light meter or another camera? Even if it was accidental, I enjoy the double exposure.

The Yashica Mat 124G has a meter that matches what I get with my 20D ... woohoo. The Lubitel does not have a meter ... I just used the sunny F16 rule.

I did order a $20 old cheapie meter from ebay which should get here soon enough. Both cameras have f3.5 to F22 and 1sec to 1/500sec for the Yashica, and 1/250sec for the Lubitel. Pretty flexible in that way.
