I would love to just do a project about our kids......my daughter is so photogenic, plus I'm so much more motivated to waste time playing with various techniques of PPing with her pics...i.e.

She is the light of my life, the apple of my eye, Daddy's little princess.......and totally has me wrapped around her little finger.

Thought I'd mention that just in case you couldn't figure that out.......8>)

Edit: Duh, Jeb.....forgot to put the second pic in.....

This sounds like fun. My daughter, pipsqueak, just told me about it. I will try to have some photos in today or tomorrow.

She is a sweetie, Jeb and I look forward to everyone's pics of their kids ... it tends to bring out the best in a photographer's abilities ...

I just took a picture of a kid today that I kinda like ... does it have to be our OWN kids ?

I love the idea. I'm always interested for kid's photography.

Well.....here's my thoughts.

I think that for the most part, it'd be best if we were sure that we took shots of the kids that we know we can post without anyone getting upset, and that's going to most likely limit it to family and close friends.

I'm the photographer for our church, and though I take a lot of photographs of the children at church, I would never post them up here without the parents' knowledge.

It pays to be considerate of parents' feelings in this day and age......as it is, my wife isn't totally happy about me even posting here at DPC, but I am way okay with it having gotten a feel for the climate here.

So.....I guess the next thing to do would be to have an idea or theme as to what we'd like to do, or just leave it open-ended to post kid pics to this thread whenever the mood strikes.

Thoughts?

I think this is a great idea we could have a 30 day challenge. As Jeb said I would be much more motivated when its my own kids. Will keep a watch on this thread.

I am open to a theme or just any mood that strikes. I too will keep a watch on the thread. I have been wanting to do one of these side things for awhile but always seemed to miss out.

erm ... I can't do thirty days ... when did it jump to that ? but I have a few shots of kids lately I would enter/show here if it had NOTHING to do with 30 days ...

btw Jeb ... this shot just makes me sigh ... how can you get softer and prettier and more innocent than that ?

I really didn't have a thirty day thing in mind, either.

What I was thinking would be a thirty day time period, but an offering of one a week, and then to try and discuss our respective offerings and how we like or don't like what we've done, and what we want to do differently.

I think that I have a real thing for kid pictures, and I'd like to develop that.

If this idea suits, let's do it in April......it'll be spring then and some outside work will be doable then.

I really want to do at least one portrait of my little girl in the dwindling light that's bordering on a silhouette, yet still has facial definition.

Greetmir, the thing with pics of my girl is that I don't think I have ever gotten a bad shot.

She is the most photogenic thing and a true delight as she makes me look good.

Can it be friend's kids (with their permission of course)?
I don't have any kids, but love taking photos of them, because of their innocence.

My idea was based on the love I have for photographing my own little girl, but......

We don' need no steenkin' rules!............8>)

And yes, I think that April 1 is a good start date, after all, I'm a fool for my little girl!

Well Jeb ... The one I had in mind ... (That I have the parent's permission to post and was taken with the understanding that I would indeed post it at DPC before the camera even came out of the bag) ...

... I think I will be using it for a challenge ... so ... I guess I am out ... I just wanted to contribute a beauty and when the challenge is over I will post it on the thread to let you all see it. I think you will all agree that it is rather special.

Good luck with all your kiddie shots and have fun ... I will be glad to drop by and give encouragement and critique (well my opinions anyways).
